The choice of the railing affects the ingrustment and the convenience of ascent of the spiral staircase.
The functionality of the spiral staircase depends on the fixing of the railing. We can have the fixing above the step, however reducing the support surface of the step and the useful passage.
Alternatively, the railing can be fixed to the side, thus increasing the overall size of the staircase, and leaving more free space for those who use it. This solution is therefore preferable in contexts where you want to prioritize comfort.

Precautions of use
The staircase can be installed inside category buildings at 1990: 2002 with a temperature of theia between 5 ° and 30 ° and with humidity values between 30 and 70%.
The assembly and fixing must be carried out by expert personnel, verifying the nature of the walls on which to perform adequate anchoring.
No modifications should be made that would compromise its stability.
Surface treatments can change the tone and color if exposed to direct light.
We recommend not exposing the product to heat sources.
NOTES
Maintenance
To laying performed, check the complete tightening of the whole Viteria which will be chewed after about 6 months from the installation of the product.
Cleaning
Once the laying is finished cleaning the parts in view of the staircase. Ordinary cleaning must be performed with a damp cloth without abrasive products or solvents.
Use only water.
The metal parts can be cleaned with a cloth moistened with commercial cleaning products that do not contain aggressive chemical substances or acids or solvents.
Width and diameter of the spiral stairs
The choice of the width of the spiral stairs is often tied by the size of the compartment and the hole available. It is a good rule to choose a diameter that is a few cm lower than that of the hole in order to have the possibility to make the necessary corrections.
The diameter of the spiral stairs cannot be smaller than a certain extent, both for legislative reasons and for ergonomic and practical reasons (spiral stairs with too small diameters would not allow the passage of a person).
The minimum dimensions for spiral staircases are defined in the UNI 10804 regulation of 1999 where the guidelines for correct design are defined.
Round spiral stairs should not have a diameter of less than 110/120 cm, while those with a square plan can reach a minimum of 100 cm.
As for the maximum diameter, however, the only limit is the design one.
Normally the dimensions of spiral staircases vary from a minimum diameter of 100 cm to a maximum of 200 cm with a progression of 10 cm by 10 cm in order to cover all possible hole dimensions. In particular cases or for larger diameters, ad hoc projects can be created.
Height and number of steps of the spiral staircase
The number of steps of the spiral stairs depends on the total height that must be reached.
To get an idea of how many steps will be necessary, it is necessary to carry out a measurement that also considers the thickness of the attic and the arrival floor, which must be calculated from the starting floor to the arrival floor, vertically.
However, it is possible to design a staircase with a greater or lesser number of steps at the same height reached.
It all depends on the rise between the steps usually oscillating between a minimum and a maximum.
A low riser allows you to have a staircase that is very comfortable to walk on, but with a high number of steps.
Conversely, a greater rise reduces the number of them, and therefore the bulk, to the detriment of the ease of climbing.
In the choice of the number of steps, it must also be taken into account also the position of the starting step at the bottom.
Increasing or decreasing the total number of steps also determines a movement of the starting step, which is why it is always a good idea to check where it is positioned to make sure that it is not in correspondence with obstacles, walls, windows or anything else.
The spiral staircase F20 H 2310-2519 diameter 1100 mm referred to on this page was calculated with a number of steps equal to 11; this does not prevent it from being possible to have a different number of steps, for the same height reached, by modifying the rises from step to step.
Round or square -shaped spiral stairs
The main difference, from which different performances also derive is in the form of the step, toned down for the round and tip for the square.
Generally, square stairs, with the same diameter, allow you to make the most of the corner spaces between the walls, offering greater useful space.
Thanks to a higher support surface for the step, these stairs are therefore wider and more comfortable to walk on.
The round-shaped staircase, on the other hand, is aesthetically more graceful than the lines offered by square-shaped stairs.
